My art is an accumulation of observation, experiments, and numerous happy accidents. My paintings focus on subjects I have encountered in the natural world while always allowing myself to play with my imagination.

I use acrylics, collage, and occasionally charcoal to design art that is inspired by my appreciation of the natural world. I work with form, color, light, and the character of my subject to make pieces that are fun to create and engage myself and the viewer to enjoy the relationships of nature, art, and play.

I have been a self-described “nature nerd” since childhood and have spent countless hours exploring the outdoors and taking time for quiet contemplation of the subtleties of our environment. From my home in the Pacific Northwest, I am grateful to have easy access to a diversity of natural areas – each with their unique population of animals and plants from which I draw inspiration.
